Pingbar - wtf?
die PINGBAR-FAQ - english only
Pingbar - proud to be different
We rely on Mac OS X, but we even do windows - sometimes
What does pingbar mean?Two things:
A
ping is a small packet that is commonly used to track the availability
of machines in a network. If a machine replys to a ping it is usually
up and running which is a good thing.
So pingbar means on the
one hand that we are reachable and react fast. We are happy to offer
the best service available for our customers, no matter what problem
they may have. See our examples page to see what this means.
On
the other hand all those little pings need a place to stay and have a
rest. We live with computers and know how stressy a life with IT can
be. So we created a place for pings where they can hang around after a
hard day and have a rest. Visit our lounge to find out what pings do in
their sparetime.
What kind of services do you offer? To
make a long story short: We care that you can do your work and don't
have to care about computer-problems. Our services are really
individually because everybody has different needs. Got a problem? We
almost surely have a solution for you.
But hey, this is no sufficiant answer, so what do you really offer? We
do in fact everything for you to feel comfortable. This starts with
finding the right Operating System for you, the right computer, the
right applications, we teach you how to use all this stuff and we are
there when you do not now what to do. Almost 24/7 if necessary.
We
solve almost every it-related problem, from finding an
internet-connection in for example denmark when you are there and call
us for help to creating a webpage for you or your business. When you
are in india and for some reason want to have a 40 Gig iPod - call us
and you will get one without any hassle. When you have a linux-server
down in south-america and the machine does not want to print - call us,
we care for you. When you are in Sarajevo and need help with your
powerbook - call us and you will get help. And yes, we also care for
you at three in the morning, when you just got stuck with your printer.
You got a mail that contains a virus or your harddisk with your
important data just died? Call us!
We plan networks, we offer
security solutions, we keep up with your software-licences and much
much more. Test us and you will see it yourself.
We want you
to be a happy customer, so we look at your environment as a whole. We
are not interested at all in selling you stuff, we even do not sell any
hardware. We just want to make you happy and productive.
Why do you do this? Are you crazy?Yes,
kind of. Most probably. We are nerds. We live with our computers. We
like them really. But in the end, they are a tool and nothing more. Our
society becomes more and more dependend from computers and so almost
everybody has to deal with them. You have to spend time with stuff that
in the end has nothing to do with whatever your bussiness may be. So
you get less productive. We change this. We know that working with
computers can be fun and not a pain and we believe that this is the way
it should be. So we care for you and teach you how to survive.
What's your mission? As I said before: To make you happy.
You are damned liars! You can't know that much and honestly: How would you help me when I'm in South-Africa and you are not?Sorry,
you are wrong! We know a lot, but surely we do not know everything.
It's all a question of organisation. We are a really sleek company and
we react fast. We know a lot of people and if we have a special need
and we know that someone else is more qualified than we are in this
special field we'll get him involved. We are networkers and you would
not believe what this means until you try it.
The point is, that you do not have to care for this - you tell us your problem, you get the solution.
You just want my money!Sorry,
you are wrong. In fact, we are not too interested in money. We have to
bill you, surely, because we have to live. But a customer that feels
that he or she pays to much money would be an unhappy customer, and so
we would miss our goal. We believe that our rates are really fair (and
they are individually as well) and so do our customers. If you are
unhappy, just tell us and we'll find a solution.
Why the heck should I call you?Well,
do you have a car? If it does not work, will you fix it yourself or
will you call a mechanic? That's why. It makes your life easier.
What exactly can you do for me?That
really depends on your needs and that is, where we begin: Most of our
customers already have some kind of IT-environment when we get
involved. We check what they do and how their workflow could get
optimized. We keep in budget, so things in most cases do not become
expensive. It's just the difference between working hard and working
smoothly.
What Operating Systems to you maintain?Do
you really want to know this? Ok. We use Mac OS X for several reasons,
but we are not religious here. We have a really open mind for
everything that is open source, so we do Linux and BSD, but we even do
Windows. Surely we do much more from PalmOS to AIX, from Symbian to Mac
OS 6. We just look what's the best solution for your needs.
What customers do you have?Well,
different ones. Indivuals as well as companies. Journalists,
photographers, advertizers, teachers, bussiness-people, craftsmen,
traders, but also big enterprises - whatever you can imagine.
Ok. I want your help. Come here and help me now!Oh,
wait a moment. You surely missed one important point: We are really
cute people and we are friendly and so are our customers. We do our
very best for them and they appreciate that. We are not slaves. In the
best case we are a kind of friends. Our customers have to trust us and
we have to trust our customers. That's what makes our kind of service
possible.
This means we can (and do) not accept everyone as a
customer. Call us or drop us a mail and we'll work together. If this
works fine, great. If not: Well, you most probably have to look for
another service-provider. Sorry.
